Frequently Asked Questions about our Fertility Survey
HOW ARE MY ODDS CALCULATED?
For My Odds uses statistical models that were developed over a decade using one of the world’s largest IVF databases. Using these models, we estimate your probability of a birth and multiple births by analyzing results from women like you.
HOW CAN I USE THESE NUMBERS?
These percentages mean that if one hundred women like you underwent an IVF cycle using 1, 2 or 3 embryos, a certain number will give birth. Of those who give birth, a certain percentage will give birth to multiples. Knowing these percentages can help you and your partner make informed decisions. Showing this information to your doctors can help them understand your individualized chances of success, in a way that is far more specific than information currently available.
WHAT RESEARCH IS THE IVF SUCCESS TEST BASED ON?
The information going into the model for the IVF Success Test comes from nearly a decade of work by Dr. Christopher Jones who completed his doctorate at the University of Oxford (© 2005, All Rights Reserved by Dr. Christopher Jones). In the United Kindom, Dr. Jones created reliable ways of improving women’s success with IVF while at the same time minimizing the risk and cost of multiple births. Dr. Jones presented these findings to the Department of Health, the HFEA as well as to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Infertility at the House of Commons. The findings of his dissertation provided the backbone not only for this timely initiative but for policy changes that have helped thousands of women around the world.
HOW DOES FOR MY ODDS DEFINE A HEALTHY BABY?
For My Odds estimates the chances of taking home a healthy baby from IVF, as defined by at least 27 completed days of life post-delivery. This definition is more stringent than traditional descriptions of “healthy birth” or “live birth rate.” It is, quite simply, the “take-home baby rate.”
What are the prices of the IVF SUCCESS Test? What will I receive With MY PURCHASE?
For My Odds offers two different take-home baby reports that contain the probabilities based upon your responses on the IVF Success Test. As part of our special introductory offer the Standard Take-home Baby Report costs $99.00 and the Platinum Take-home Baby Report costs $199.00.
With the purchase of the Standard Take-home Baby Report you will receive a personalized letter with calculations that illustrate the embryo specific take home baby rate as well as your probability of taking home twins if your IVF cycle is successful. For the Platinum Take-home Baby Report, you will receive the Standard Take-home Baby Report results, along with your chances of success and chances of twins after one, two, three or more cycles of IVF treatment. You will also receive probabilities for your chances of success if you delay IVF treatment by one year and five years. This will give you an educated guess of what you can expect at each stage of treatment. As such, the Platinum Take-home Baby Report is our most popular product.
